App State wrestling wrapped up another strong Southern Conference campaign with well-deserved recognition. Senior Dylan Brooker and Jaden Monchery were named to the All-SoCon team following the 2025-26 championships. The duo’s standout performances earned them spots among the league’s elite, highlighting the grit and consistency they’ve brought to the mat all season.

The Amazing Run

Brooker, competing at 184 pounds, turned in a dominant run that included key wins over ranked opponents and a knack for grinding out decisions when it mattered most. His technical prowess and never-back-down attitude made him a nightmare matchup, and the All-SoCon nod is a fitting cap to his senior year. Monchery, at 197 pounds, matched that intensity with explosive takedowns, strong defense, and the kind of late-match resilience that separates good wrestlers from great ones. Both athletes helped App State rack up valuable team points and keep the program competitive in one of the toughest conferences in the country.

How it was won

These honors come after a season where the Mountaineers battled through tough duels, showed up big at invitationals, and represented Boone with pride every time they stepped on the mat. The coach’s group has built a culture of toughness and work ethic, and having two wrestlers recognized league-wide proves the hard work is paying off.

What it means to them

For Brooker and Monchery, this is more than hardware, it’s validation of the hours in the room, the weight cuts, the comebacks from tough losses. They’ve left their mark on the program and set the bar high for the underclassmen coming up behind them.

Boone, give these two a big cheer, they’ve earned it. All-SoCon status doesn’t come easy in the SoCon, but when you’re climbing mountains (or pinning opponents), App State wrestlers make it look like they belong at the top.

The indoor season may be done, but the fight never stops. Congrats to Dylan and Jaden, true Mountaineers through and through.
