Saturday (February 21, 2026) marks the last dance at the Holmes Convocation Center for the 2025-26 regular season, and it’s loaded with emotion. The App State men’s basketball team hosts Georgia Southern in a Senior Day showdown at 1:00 p.m. ET, giving the graduating players one final chance to soak in the cheers from the Yosef faithful before the road grind and postseason beckon.

After a rollercoaster week, dropping a tough one at JMU last Saturday and then suffering a gut-wrenching 94-93 heartbreaker to Marshall on Thursday, the  Mountaineers (18-11 overall, 10-6 Sun Belt) are itching for redemption on their home floor. Those two losses snapped a strong run and cost App State sole possession of first place, but the squad’s resilience has been the story all year. Coach Dustin Kerns has preached staying locked in, and now it’s time to channel that frustration into a statement win.

Georgia Southern (10-18 overall, 5-10 Sun Belt) rolls in as the underdog, but they’ve been scrappy lately and always bring a little extra motivation against conference foes. The Eagles will look to slow the tempo, crash the boards, and make things ugly, classic road warrior stuff. For App State, it’s about rediscovering the defensive intensity that fueled their earlier surge and getting the offense clicking again in transition and from deep.

This one’s extra special

Senior Day honors the players who’ve poured everything into the Black and Gold. Expect the Holmes Center to be packed, the band cranked, and the atmosphere electric as fans thank the seniors for the memories, lockdown D, or just being the heart of the locker room. A win here would be the perfect send-off, keeping postseason seeding hopes alive and reminding everyone why Boone hoops is special.

Tip-off is 1:00 p.m. ET

stream on ESPN+ if you’re not in the building, but if you can make it, bring the noise. The mountains are watching, the seniors deserve a roar, and the Mountaineers are ready to close the home slate with a bang.

Let’s pack the Holmes Center, honor the grads, and get back in the win column. One more time for the home crowd
